Video: A Shiʻa Jurist Who Got Beat by His Wife!!

When he became a Shia authority and marja’, his followers realized that his wife had a bad behavior at home. They came to investigate the issue only to find out that sometimes his wife would beat him when he arrived at home.

The late Sheikh Ja’far Kashif al-Ghita, known as Sheikh Kabir (the Great Sheikh), was one of the greatest jurists of the Shia World. His knowledge was so vast that he said: if all the Shia jurisprudential books were thrown into the sea, I will still have it in my heart from the beginning to the end. When he became a Shia authority and marja’, his followers realized that his wife had a bad behavior at home. They came to investigate the issue only to find out that sometimes his wife would beat him when he arrived at home. Once, they went to him and said: Sir, we have heard a story and we need to ask the truth about it from yourself; does your wife beat you sometimes? He said: yes, and she is a strong Arab woman; so when she gets angry, she beats me a lot and I can’t do anything to stop her! They said give her divorce, but he refused that as an option. They said let us send our women to advise or warn her to stop this behavior. The Sheikh said I also would not allow this. They asked why? He said: This woman for me is a supreme gift and blessing from Allah. Because when I come out and stand in the courtyard of Amir Al-Momenin and all the people of the courtyard pray behind me and follow me, sometimes I get proud of myself for these positions that Allah has given me. At the same time, I come home and my wife beats me and my pride fades away. This is divine punishment and it should be right there.
