The WHFC Asia Regional Meeting 2026 was successfully held in Taipei, Taiwan, on 20 May 2026, hosted by THIDA in a hybrid format at The Conference Hall of Taipei Cultural Mosque, bringing together representatives of Halal Certification Bodies (HCBs) from across Asia through both onsite and online participation.
Chaired by Isa S. Chao, Secretary General of WHFC, and moderated by Andi S. Sulaimana, Strategic Coordinator of WHFC, the meeting served as an important platform to strengthen regional cooperation and strategic collaboration among WHFC Asia members.
The meeting was attended on-site by representatives from THIDA Taiwan, LPPOM Indonesia, HCA Vietnam, HDIP Philippines, JMA Japan, KMF Korea, JHA Japan, JUHF India, and MPJA Japan. In contrast, representatives from SHC China and HAC Sri Lanka joined virtually via Zoom due to VISA constraints.
Key discussions focused on strengthening WHFC Asia Regional Cooperation, including the development of Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA) among WHFC Asia members, the enhancement of cross-border collaboration through information sharing on several stakeholders (certified manufacturers, raw materials, and products, etc.), and expanding the promotion of WHFC Halal-certified industries into emerging Muslim market opportunities such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and other regions. The meeting also highlighted future initiatives for exhibitions and promotion of WHFC Halal-certified industries throughout Asia.
THIDA extends its sincere appreciation to all participating organizations and delegates for their valuable contributions and commitment toward advancing a stronger, more connected, and globally recognized Halal ecosystem in the Asia region.
