New Released: The Laws of Islam by Ayatollah Modarresi +PDF

The Laws of Islam is the English-language legal manual of Grand Ayatollah al-Modarresi which provides the reader with a concise overview of the Islamic obligations and recommendations, both personal and social.

The Law of Islam is the English translation of the comprehensive legal manual (Ahkam al-Islam) by the eminent religious authority Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Taqi al-Modarresi. Ahkam al-Islam is itself an abridged summary of his three-volume Arabic practical legal manual, which is in turn a pared-down rendering of his momentous work of Islamic law, al-Wujis fi al-Fiqh al-Islami. One reason the latter is such an incredible legal masterpiece was the careful inclusion of a massive portion of his Eminence’s textual evidence for rulings, drawn from the Quran and Sunna. In other words, rather than simply presenting a list of rulings, the author would begin a topic with its rationalization, and then explore what our key scriptures said on the matter, before finally giving his own verdicts. To share some of this scholarship with the English-speaking world, this translation has had a substantial number of scriptural references and proofs from al-Wujiz restored and reintroduced into the text. This allows the reader to view the law as fully connected to the Book of Allah and the divine guidance of the Holy Household, peace be upon them, the result is perhaps the finest introductory guide to practical Islamic laws of worship and contracts produced in the English language to date, designed to serve as an easy-to-reference guide for the believers in order to hold fast the firmest handhold of divine authority.
