God’s Emissaries: Adam to Jesus

The book presents a comprehensive theologically sound, captivating, and believable set of stories from Adam to Jesus. It portrays God’s prophets as the heroes they were, possessed of the most stellar of human traits, exemplary in every aspect of their being.

“God’s Emissaries” weaves together every Quranic verse and every plausible tradition that has come down to us from Prophet Muhammad (phub&hp) and His family into an epic story of God’s tireless efforts to guide humankind.

Traditions tell us that there were 124,000 prophets appointed by God to guide humanity. Of these, the Qurʾān mentions twenty-six by name. It briefly mentions another three without stating their names. We know of a few dozen more from their mention in the traditions and in the Old Testament.

Affirmation of all God’s prophets, along with the scriptures they brought, is a tenet of Islam. Muslims must affirm the following:

We believe in God and in what has been revealed to us and in what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the prophets from the Tribes of Israel and, in particular, in what was given to Moses, Jesus, and all the other prophets. We do not distinguish one of them from another insofar as they are prophets (Qurʾān 3:84).
