Call for Papers: Quran and Islamic Tradition in Comparative Perspective

Unit of the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) invited proposals for both individual papers and pre-arranged panels at the international meeting in Helsinki, July 30-August 3, 2018.

Conference Subjects

Suggested topics might include, but are not limited to, the Quran and Islamic tradition in the wider context of the history of the Western monotheisms; Islam’s profound historical relationships with Judaism, Christianity, and the biblical heritage; and comparative inquiry and intercommunal dialogue more generally.

Proposals for panels or individual papers can be submitted online at http://www.sbl-site.org/meetings/Internationalmeeting.aspx.

The deadline for submission of proposals is February 14, 2018. Please note that membership in the Society of Biblical Literature is required in order to submit a paper proposal.
