Call for Applications: Professor of Islamic Art and Architecture

Brown University invites applications at the level of Associate or Full Professor from a historian of art and architecture with a primary research interest in the study of any region of the Islamic world in the period before 1900, with a preference for a research focus on the period pre-1800. The appointment will begin July 1, 2021.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding scholarly achievement with a record of distinction, as well as a commitment to classroom teaching of introductory as well as specialized courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Minassian Professor will be expected to encourage cross-disciplinary collaborations through innovative teaching, research and mentoring, helping to make connections with students and faculty across the university.
