ISIL Members are the Khawarij of the Time

A British Sunni scholar underlined that the ISIL (Daesh) terrorist group are actually the Khawarij of the time that have no other intention than distorting the image of pure Islam.

Sheikh Muhammad Umar ibn Ramadhan, the chairman of Ramadhan Foundation in Britain, made the remark after a meeting with a number of Shia scholars and officials of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) in the Iraqi city of Karbala.

He said that the ISIL (Daesh) terrorist group does not represent Islam and Sunnis in any way.

He is visiting Iraq at the head of a delegation of Sunni scholars from Britain to learn about the conditions of the Arab country, the fight against Takfiri terrorists and the role of Shia sources of emulation in mobilizing Iraqis in the fight against terrorism.

Sheikh Ramadhan stressed that Iraq’s fight against ISIL is Islam’s battle against Kufr.

He also said that ISIL members are actually the Khawarij of the time that have no other intention than distorting the image of pure Islam.

The Sunni scholar further underlined that Shia and Sunni Muslims are brothers that have always lived together in peace and that such criminal groups as ISIL cannot foment discord between Shias and Sunnis.

The British delegation has so far visited the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala, Imam Ali (AS) in Najaf, Imam Musa Kadhim (AS) and Imam Javad (AS) in Khadhimiya and Imam Hadi (AS) and Imam Hassan Askari (AS) in Samarra.
