Qatar to Host International Conferences on Quran, Islamic Thought

The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs and Qatar University will hold two international conferences in early October 2025.

The first meeting, titled The Holy Quran and Human Knowledge: Towards a Mature Human Understanding, will bring together more than 18 researchers from different parts of the Islamic world.

It will address how the Quran can be engaged in shaping human and social knowledge, with a focus on education, society, psychology, and economics, Qatar News Agency reported on Saturday.

According to organizers, the aim is to encourage dialogue between scholars of religious sciences and those working in social and human sciences.

They added that the conference will seek ways to connect Quranic interpretation with contemporary research methods and use those findings in studying social phenomena.

The second gathering, called The First Book of the Ummah Forum, will review the long-running Book of the Ummah series. Launched more than four decades ago, the series has explored cultural and intellectual questions within the Muslim world.

This forum will discuss the series’ methodology and approaches, while also examining its relevance to present-day issues.

Eight working papers will be presented, focusing on how Islamic values can inform cultural renewal and support a balanced Muslim identity in a rapidly changing global environment.
