A group of Bahrain’s most prominent Islamic scholars have strongly condemned the ongoing siege of Gaza by Zionist forces, decrying the resulting humanitarian catastrophe and criticizing the silence and inaction of the Islamic world and the international community.
In a joint statement published on the official Instagram account of Ayatollah Sayyid Abdullah Al-Ghuraifi’s office, the scholars denounced the blockade that has left Gaza’s population—particularly children, women, and the elderly—facing severe hunger and deprivation.
“We strongly condemn the oppressive Zionist siege of Gaza and the starvation of its people,” the statement declared. “We are appalled by the current state of the Islamic Ummah, which remains silent and indifferent—neither responding to the cries of the oppressed nor acting to repel injustice.”
The signatories emphasized that both the Islamic world and the broader international community bear a moral and legal responsibility to act decisively to end the blockade and to provide immediate humanitarian relief to the people of Gaza.
The statement, issued on Monday, was signed by the following leading scholars:
- Ayatollah Sayyid Abdullah Al-Ghuraifi
- Hojjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Muhammad Saleh Al-Rubaie
- Hojjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Aali
- Hojjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Muhammad Sanqur
- Hojjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Ali Al-Saddidi
The statement concludes with a call for immediate action to lift the siege and to uphold the principles of justice, humanity, and Islamic solidarity.
