In response to the acts of aggression and brutality perpetrated by the Zionist regime, the Secretariat of the International Conference on Human Rights in the Eastern Perspective issued a statement strongly condemning the blatant violation of the territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Citing international legal standards, the statement calls for the full realization of the rights of the Iranian people.
The content of this statement is grounded in the following internationally recognized principles and norms:
- State Responsibility for Violations of International Law: According to the Articles on Responsibility of States for Internationally Wrongful Acts (2001), drafted by the International Law Commission (ILC), the Zionist regime bears full international responsibility for violations of international law, including aggression, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.
- War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity: Individuals directly involved in these crimes—such as targeted assassinations, the killing of civilians, and destruction of property—can be prosecuted under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Article 8 of the Rome Statute classifies “wilful killing,” “extensive destruction and appropriation of property not justified by military necessity,” and “intentionally directing attacks against civilians” as war crimes.
Article 7 defines crimes against humanity to include “murder,” “extermination,” and “other inhumane acts.”
Call to the International Community
United Nations Security Council
The Council is urged to unequivocally and urgently condemn these acts of aggression and terrorism and to take necessary measures to prevent their recurrence and impose appropriate sanctions on the Zionist regime.
United Nations General Assembly
The Assembly is requested to consider and adopt resolutions addressing these crimes in accordance with principles of international law and human rights.
International Court of Justice (ICJ) and International Criminal Court (ICC)
These bodies are called upon to examine the existing documentation and evidence thoroughly and to undertake legal and judicial proceedings to prosecute and punish the perpetrators.
All States, International Organizations, and Human Rights Institutions
These entities are urged to exert political, economic, and diplomatic pressure on the Zionist regime to compel the immediate cessation of its crimes and to ensure full compliance with international law, as well as to halt military and political support to the regime responsible for these violations.
The Secretariat, while expressing full solidarity with the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasizes its ongoing commitment to pursuing this matter, securing the rights of victims, and ensuring the enforcement of international justice. It firmly believes that sustainable peace and security can only be achieved through full adherence to international law and the end of impunity for perpetrators of grave crimes.
