If One Performs Prayers in Prime Times and Does not Reach Great Positions May Curse Me

Transcription

A teacher of ethics [Ayatollah Qadi (May Allah Bless him)] in Najaf said, “I am liable if a person performs these five-time prayers in their prime times and does not reach great [spiritual] positions.” It was a great word, he said, “If a person performs five-time prayers in their prime times and does not reach great [spiritual] positions, may curse me.” It is very strange! So, it can be learned that it is not a big deal and if a person has things to do, he can perform the prayers between them, because it is the prime time.

It is mentioned in a hadith, “The merit of [prayer in] prime time compared to [performing in] other times is like my [the Prophet’s] merit to that of people.” In another hadith, [he says], “…is like the merit of the world over the hereafter (eternity).”

Question: “What, Ayatollah Qadi said, ‘anyone who performs the prayer in its prime, will reach [great spiritual] position’, did he mean performing [the prayer] with the presence of the heart?”

Ayatollah Bahjat, “No! If [he meant] prayer with the presence of heart, they would ask how they should perform prayer [with the presence of the heart]? Or with what intention they should perform complete prayer?

[Rather], if someone observes performing prayer in its prime time unconditionally, he would reach great [spiritual] positions, in creation; and day by day, he will be promoted.”
