Ayatollah Khamenei’s Message of Condolence on the Demise of Ayatollah Alawi Gurgani

On the occasion of the demise of the pious scholar, Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Ali Alawi Gurgani, Ayatollah Khamenei issued a message of condolence.

The text of his message follows.

In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

I extend my condolences on the demise of the pious scholar, Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Ali Alawi Gurgani (may God grant him paradise), to the seminary of Qom, his students, admirers, followers and especially to the virtuous people of Golestan Province who had a deep respect for him and his late honorable father, Ayatollah Sayyid Sajjad Alawi Gorgani. I especially extend my condolences to his esteemed family and honorable children.

This great marj’a [religious authority] always remained faithful to the people and the Islamic Republic on various issues related to the Revolution and the country. He performed valuable services, which will be a source of divine grace and mercy, God willing. I ask God, the Exalted, to elevate his status and to raise him with his pure ancestors [in the Hereafter].
