Nigerian Court Grants Sheikh Zakzaky Bail to Travel to India

According to Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Kaduna High Court Has Granted the Sheikh Zakzaky and His wife a permission to travel to India for medical treatment.

Police had early tightened security in the Kaduna metropolis ahead of the hearing of the bail application of the Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat.

Nigerian court rules that Sheikh Zakzaky must be bailed and sent abroad for urgent medical treatment that’s not available in Nigeria. Judge said Sheikh Zakzaky could lose his life any time. Nigerian government has ignored court orders before. They must be held to account to abide by the law free Sheikh Zakzaky.

Sheikh Zakzaky, the founder of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), has been in detention since December 2015 after his residence in the city of Zaria was raided by Nigeria’s forces, during which he was beaten and lost vision in his left eye.

During the brutal crackdown, three of his sons lost their lives, his wife sustained serious wounds, and some 350 of his followers were killed.

Since then, the government has been violently cracking down on the IMN and its members.
