Mauritania to Host Int’l Conference on Holy Prophet’s Sirah

The 30th edition of an annual international conference on the Seerah (life) of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) will be held in Mauritania later this week.

The African country’s capital of Nouakchott will host the event on December 14-17, according to aqlam.com.

Scholars, thinkers and researchers from 20 countries are expected to take part in the conference.

It will be organized by the Islamic and Cultural Society of Mauritania and West Africa in cooperation with the Muslim World League.

The main theme of this year’s conference is investigating moderation based on the Holy Prophet’s Seerah.

The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a country in the Maghreb region of western North Africa.

The country’s population is estimated to be about 4 million and virtually all Mauritanians are Muslims.
