Organized by Istanbul University Faculty of Theology, “Qur’anic Studies Congress” offers an opportunity for scholars working in the field of Qur’anic studies to present their original research.
The congress aims to create an environment for researchers working in the field of Qur’an and tafsir to meet and support the sharing of ideas, to provide an environment that will offer different perspectives to young academics, to discuss past, current and future studies, and to create environments to discuss opportunities for cooperation. In order to discuss scientific topics with different perspectives and different types of academic activities, 12 working groups have been identified. You can present your current approaches and innovative paper proposals in these working groups. The congress will also include activities such as conferences, panels, interviews, forums and exhibitions. In the sessions where you can present your research results, you will have the opportunity to discuss your findings in detail.

Conditions of Participation
- Languages: The official languages of the symposium are Turkish, Arabic and English. Presentations will be made in one of these languages.
- Originality and Publication Requirements: The papers to be presented have not been published elsewhere before and are expected to be original. The responsibility of the manuscripts belongs to the author.
- Participation Fee and Expenses: Participation is free of charge. Participants will cover their own accommodation and transportation expenses.
- Publication of the Paper: Accepted abstracts will be published electronically.
Abstract Writing Rules
Abstracts should be prepared in Times New Roman font, 12 point font size and justified. Abstracts will be written as a 700-word extended abstract. The title of the abstract should be centered, 12-point font and bold. At least 3 and at most 5 keywords should be given at the end of the abstract. Abstracts are expected to summarize the scope, purpose, methods and findings of the study.
Full Text Writing Rules
Full papers should be around 7,000 words or 20-30 pages. It is expected to summarize and evaluate the findings. It is important that the full text has not been previously presented or published in another academic activity. Full papers should include a 150-300 word abstract in Turkish and English. There should be at least 3 and at most 5 Turkish and English keywords under both abstracts. All documents and files should be submitted in Word format. The text should be in Times New Roman font, font size 12, line spacing 1.5, the first line of the paragraph should start 1.25 cm inside; 6 pt space should be left between paragraphs. Tables should be arranged in 11 point font, single-spaced, with a paragraph spacing of 0 pt. References should start on a new page with single line spacing. Footnotes should be written in Times New Roman 10 font size and single-spaced. Page margins should be 1.27 cm on all sides. ISNAD 2nd Edition is expected to be used for citation and bibliography.
Evaluation Process
The submitted abstracts and full texts will be reviewed by the Evaluation Committee of the relevant working group in terms of scientific ethics and originality, followed by a final evaluation by the Scientific Committee. Upon completion of the process, participants will be notified via e-mail.
