Ayatollah Sayyid Abul Qasim al-Khoei [ra] was a prominent scholar and Religious Authority of the Shia world during the 20th century. He passed away on August 8, 1992. Although a formal funeral ceremony for him was not allowed by the Ba’athist regime, this video footage captured by one of the government intelligence agents depicting the late Ayatollah’s body being taken to the shrine of Imam Ali [as] in Najaf, his funeral prayers being presided over by Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Sistani, and his body being laid to rest near Amirul Momineen’s grave.
