Seminary school should retain its revolutionary nature

Ayatollah Khamenei meets with members of Association of Religious Students and Scholars of Qom Seminary

Leader of the Islamic Revolution has told a group of Qom Seminary School representatives in Parliament some special circles has been ‘de-revolutionizing’ Seminary School.

Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei received on Tuesday a group of members of Association of Qom Seminary School (Hawzah) Scholars Representatives in Parliament where he highlighted and hailed the role the Seminary School had played during and after the Revolution of 1979; “despite attempt to de-revolutionize the School, it should retain its Revolutionary nature; to remain so, it requires precise planning and well-thought agenda,” Leader told the meeting.

“Two important bodies played crucial roles during the Revolution: Seminary School and universities; the latter had engaged in civil movements either before and after the Revolution, which however failed to bring drastic changes to society as its scope of influence was restricted to certain social classes; this gap was bridged by the seminary schools and clerics whose campaign proved effective in bringing a definite outcome to student movements,” he added.

“If it were not for Qom Seminary School, the movement pioneered by Imam Khomeini (RA) would come to nothing; this well indicate the unparalleled role played by the Qom Seminary School in the historical bottlenecks; the force which brought the masses to streets was the clerics who conveyed Imam’s revolutionary messages to the far-flung regions of the country,” emphasized Ayatollah Khamenei, coming to a current issue of the attempts to de-revolutionize the Hawzah, which he believed, deserved issuing some caveats; “without Hawzah remaining revolutionary, Revolution would go astray; plans should be devised so that Hawzah remains the cradle of the Revolution and the boiling pot and a factory which permanently fosters minds and hearts brimmed with the love of the Revolution,” Ayatollah Khamenei asserted.

“The true and pure Islam is evident in the teachings of the founder of the Revolution; this has garnered enmity toward itself from circles who had been seeking to weaken the political Islam which form the core of Imam Khomeini’s (RA) Islamic state for the first time after the classical age of Islam,” he concluded its speech.
