The Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Sistani, the Grand Shi’a Marjaʻ in Iraq, expressed his condolences in a message on the passing away of Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad Saeed Al-Tabatabai Al-Hakeem, (May his grave be blessed).

What follows is the full message of Grand Ayatollah Sistani:

“In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful”

“To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return”

I received with great sadness and regret the news of the passing away of the divine scholar, the jurist of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad Saeed al-Tabatabai al-Hakeem (May his grave be blessed), The scholarly Hawza in Najaf has lost one of its eminent scholars and jurisprudents, who dedicated himself to the support of religion and doctrine and He devoted his blessed life to the service of science and its people and succeeded to leave a great scientific heritage of high status.

I would like to express my deep condolences to our Imam, the Lord of the Age, (may our souls sacrifice unto him), and the Seminaries and to the honorable family members of the blessed deceased, especially his honorable brothers and his respected sons – and all the believers in general, and I pray God the Almighty to grant him high status; and for his family and lovers, I request great patience and reward.

There is no power except the power of Allah)
