Sheikh al-Zakzaky Condemns Terrorist Attack on Peshawar Mosque

The leader of Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky condemns terrorist attack on Shia mosque in the Peshawar, Pakistan.

The prominent Nigerian Shia Scholar prays to Allah (SWT) for mercy and blessing for the souls of the martyrs who lost their lives during the bomb attack which he blamed on the enemies of Islam whose major aim is to sow the seed of disunity among Muslims around the world.

The Leader of the Islamic movement in Nigeria while sending his heartfelt condolence to the families of the victims, also highlighted how the enemies of Islam carry out attacks against religious communities in the Muslim world to make sure Muslims are not united to confront our common enemy. At the end, he prays for the speedy recovery of the injured and traumatized survivors.

At least 56 people were killed and 194 others wounded when the blast took place as worshippers had gathered in the Kucha Risaldar mosque in Peshawar’s old city area for congregational Friday prayers.

Peshawar city’s police chief, Muhammed Ejaz Khan, told reporters that the violence ensued when two armed assailants opened fire on policemen outside the mosque.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan condemned the bombing, according to his office.

Daesh terrorist group have claimed responsibility for the attack.

Many anti-Shia terrorist groups are active in the South Asian country. Both Daesh and Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have previously carried out similar attacks in the region, located near the border with Afghanistan.
