Award Ceremony Held at Bosnia Halal Fair

An award distribution ceremony was held on the third day of Sarajevo Halal Fair (SHF) for individuals and companies that contributed to the development of the halal industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The SHF – the first-ever halal fair in Sarajevo – hosts around 100 exhibitors from 36 countries.

The award for the highest number of halal certified products was granted to AS HOLDING from Bosnia for having more than 900 products.

The award for outstanding contribution to the development of the halal industry in the country was awarded to Midhat Jasic, Amir Sakic and the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The award for outstanding contribution to the development of the halal industry in the region was given to President of the Islamic Community in Croatia Aziz Hasanovic.

The award for the fair’s best stand, selected by the visitors, was given to Uka Komerc from Macedonian.

The fair enabled the participants from the Balkan countries — including Serbia, Slovenia and Albania — as well as from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and the EU countries to introduce halal food products.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, 90 firms have halal food certificates, while more than 130 producers and over 7,000 products have halal food certificates in the region, according to Damir Alihodzic, the head of Agency for Halal Quality Certification.
